Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship

The Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship was established by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to promote the acceptance of international students from around the world. Its purpose is to enable students to pursue academic studies or research at Japanese universities, thereby fostering individuals who can serve as a bridge between Japan and their home countries. Through this role, such individuals are expected to contribute to the development of both countries and, ultimately, to the global community.

Kyushu University accepts four types of international students: (1) Research students (Graduate Students); (2) Undergraduate students; (3) Students on Japanese Language and Culture Course (JLCC); and (4) Students on the Young Leaders’ Program (YLP).
