Overview of the Japan-Korea Joint Exchange Program in Science and Engineering
The Japan-Korea Joint Exchange Program in Science and Engineering started as a new international student program based on the Japan-Republic of Korea Joint Declaration, entitled “A New Japan-Republic of Korea Partnership towards the Twenty-first Century,” issued by the leaders of the two countries in October 1998. Under this program, promising Korean students (high school graduates) are accepted to study on undergraduate programs in science and technology (four-year programs) at Japanese universities. Every year, Kyushu University accepts around seven young Koreans to study in the School of Science, School of Engineering, and School of Design.
