●Permission for Restricted Part-time Work

International Students living in Japan with a “College Student” status are not authorized to work.

*If you wish to work part-time, you must be granted a permission at the Student Section in
your department

■Necessary Documents

1. Application for Permission to Engage in Activity other than that Permitted under the Status
of Residence Previously Granted. Click here to download.
2. Supplementary Application Form
3. Photo copy of Passport
(the page with your photo & page in which your status of residence is shown)
4. Photo copy of Alien Registration Card (both sides)

■Authorized Part-time Work for International Students

Undergraduates / Graduate Students / Research Students : not more than 28 hours a week
Other International Students : not more than 14 hours a week

*Long-term Holidays (Spring, Summer, Winter) settled by the University
Undergraduates / Graduate Students / Research Students : not more than 8 hours a day
Other International Students : not more than 8 hours a day

The part-time work should not be one that might have a harmful effect on public morals. You will not be given permission for part-time work that does not satisfy this condition.
