●Who are Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho) Scholarship students?

What is the Monbukagakusho Scholarship program?

The Monbukagakusho Scholarship program was established to promote an acceptance of international students from all over the world.

You can be considered for a Monbukagakusyo Scholarship in any of three ways:

(1) by embassy recommendation, (2) by Kyushu University recommendation, and (3) through Kyushu University nomination

For overseas students

(1) by embassy recommendation (for students applying from outside Japan)

i) Undergraduate students

ii) Graduate students

iii) Applicants for Japanese studies (undergraduate level only)

(2) by Kyushu University recommendation (for prospective students applying to Kyushu University)

i) Applicants for Japanese studies (undergraduate level only)

ii) Graduate students (regular degree or special programs)

iii) Applicants for YLP (Young Leaders Program)

For students already enrolled in Kyushu University

(3) through Kyushu University nomination (for students applying while enrolled at Kyushu Uniersity)

i) Undergraduate students (final year)

ii) Graduate student
