University as a Resource for Prosperous Communities

 
   

Food security and food safety are two major needs of todayfs and ever-growing human needs. Limited food resources from one side and population growth from other side require the right and constructive management of food resources. The importance of the slogan of gthinking globally and acting locallyh should be observed for food more than anything else. The relation between food and local resources is a solid fact which finds its real meaning when observed as a worldwide element. Therefore, as local management of food resources and systems is a key part of managing global sources, such aspects are discussed in this lecture.

University, government, humans, raw materials, entrepreneurship, market and industry are considered as local resources related to food and food system. The role of university as brain chamber of the entire package will be emphasized.
