Eligibility for Admission
To be considered for admission to ATW, applicants must be:
- currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited university or college outside Japan;
- in good academic standing (with a grade point average of 3.2 out of 4.0 or higher);
- proficient in English for academic purposes (if a non- native speaker, able to demonstrate a TOEFL-i BT score of at least 79 or the equivalent); and
- planning to continue university study following ATW

by the deadline set by the ATW Office. The ATW Office
will inform the deadline to successful candidate in due course.

Arriving Fukuoka: All ATW students will be asked to arrive at Fukuoka on 19 Jun (Sun) and 20 June (Mon). Accommodation will be ready from 19 June. Airport transportation will be offered by ATW for
free of charge.
Leaving Fukuoka: ATW regards your participation
throughout the program, from the Orienatioan on 21 June to the final class on 5
August
as essential. Therefore, ATW will ask you NOT to leave Fukouka
before the program completed nor to be absent without authority
of ATW during the program term.
- The Orientation will start from 11:00 AM on 21 June 2016, followed by a welcome lunch party
- The Japanese language course orientation will be held on 22 June 2016.

Medical
Expense Insurance: Your stay in Japan is not long enough to buy any Japanese health
insurance to receive medical expense support for international
students. Therefore, you are required to take out any insurance,
covering your medical expenses incurred during your stay in Japan, before you come to Kyushu University.
As soon as you have bought insurance, please
send a copy of the insurance policy along with Confirmation Form
of Insurance
Kyushu University shall not bear any responsibility for costs caused by illness, injury and/or death of the students and any other damage that may occur as a result of accident, disaster, or other unexpected@circumstances, unless otherwise provided in the Kyushu University Emergency Secure Plan for International Students

Program fees
91,800JPY including:
- tuition for taking 3 courses (6 credits), which is the requirement for completing the ATW program and
- insurance charge for Kyushu University Emergency Secure Plan for International Students
Accommodation fee (estimated)
varies depending on the accommodation option from 150,000JPY (min) to 240,000JPY (max).
Four options will be offered to participants:
- Option 1—four weeks in an off-campus dormitory*; three, in a home stay
- Option 2—four weeks in a local hotel**; three, in a home stay
- Option 3—seven weeks in an off-campus dormitory
- Option 4—seven weeks in a hotel
*An off-campus dormitory is located in 50 minutes by train and walking from the University.
** The hotel reserved by ATW is located in 7 minutes walk from the University.

Study trip fees
Several study trips will be held during the program
for your option. Each excursion is planned
in the expectation that students
are able to experience some part of Japanese
culture and the Japanese esthetic sense. The following
study

Estimated costs
for participating in ATW
- 91,800JPY for the program fees
- 150,000JPY-240,000JPY for accommodation
- 10,000-30,000JPY for commuting expenses (by public
transportation)
- 3,000JPY for
a Japanese language text book
- 24,500JPY for
lunch and dinner at a university cafeteria (700yen x 35days)
- 28,000JPY for three optional study trips
These costs are merely
indicative. Personal expenses and expensese for a round-trip
airline ticket are not included in the costs mentioned
above.
Payment of the fees
Payment of tuition, accommodation fees,
study trip fees will be accepted by overseas remittance (bank transfer) to ATW's bank account.
All payments must be made in Japanese
yen.
You are asked to pay at least one month before ATW starts.
Paying through overseas
remittance,
- You must pay in Japanese yen.
- The remitter's name should be the student's passport name.
- Any bank charges (including a
2,500 yen Japanese bank charge) must be met by the student.
- A deposit of 5,000 yen must be included in the payment.
- If your
payment is less than the amount we required due to fluctuations
in the exchange rate or
any other reasons, the shortage will be paid from your deposit
and
the remainder will be refunded when you arrive in Japan.
- In
case of cancellation, tuition, study trip and accommodation
fees will be fully refunded. Any bank charges associated
with the overseas remittance to refund the fees will be paid from the deposit
of 5,000
yen.
