With the seven-year experience, the 3rd phase of MIRAI started in January 2024. This new phase is designed to engage researchers in a wide range of disciplines with the following four priority areas linked to the SDGs. Both face-to-face and online opportunities are provided.\r\n1\uff09Health and an ageing population (UN-SDG #3)\r\n2\uff09Climate adaptation, disaster and risk management and prevention (UN-SDG #13)\r\n3\uff09Resilient cities and communities (UN-SDG #11)\r\n4\uff09Materials for energy conversion and storage (UN-SDG #7)\r\n[MIRAI website] http:\/\/www.mirai.nu\/\r\n\r\nMIRAI Global Challenges Winter School is an onsite program which will be held between 17-22 November, at Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) in Stockholm, Sweden. \r\nKyushu University aims to use this opportunity to develop early career researchers (ECRs) and strongly invites PhD students to participate in this program.\r\n\r\nEligibility at Kyushu University:\r\nThose who fulfil all the followings 1) to 3).\r\n1\uff09Enrolled in a PhD course at Kyushu University during the program period.\r\n2\uff09The current research fields must be related to one of the priority areas (see above) in MIRAI.\r\n3\uff09Good motivation to communicate with other participant, expand own network and contribute to further MIRAI activities. The program will be provided in English.\r\n*The MIRAI\u2019s \u201cCall for Participation\u201d indicates that program is open to “PhD students or Postdocs”, but Kyushu University defines only PhD students due to its internal budget regulations.\r\n\r\nNumber of Successful Applicants:\r\nA few.
