\r\nSIAG stands for the Strategic International Advisory Group (SIAG), a group of international faculty members of Kyushu University, which has been made up of foreign faculty members of the University since September 2016. SIAG was established as the “SHARE-Q International Advisory Group” with the purpose of providing opinions and making proposals to the President (Director of Globalization Promotion Headquarters) regarding the internationalization of the university and other related matters. This was done to promote the vision of “Establishing the Strategic Hub Area for Top Global Research and Education, Kyushu University (SHARE-Q)”, which was adopted in the 2014 fiscal year as a part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s “Top Global University (TGU) Project”.
\r\nWith the termination of the Top Global University Project in the 2023 fiscal year, in order to contribute to the global society as a hub of international intellectual circulation, SIAG is active with the aim of expressing opinions and making proposals to the President (Director of Globalization Promotion Headquarters) regarding the strategic promotion of internationalization at the University.

Faculty Development (FD)<\/em><\/h4>\r\n\r\n\r\nSIAG has organized a number of FDs, using English as the medium of communication (FDs). The FDs are designed to share information that are essential to the well-being and good performance of the university\u2019s international community, but not readily available in English.
\r\n
\r\nThe absence of English communication often thwarts the international faculty from having access to the information essential to their good performance. Despite the fact that all our academic staff possess a considerable network of their own, moreover, the lack of interaction between Japanese and international faculty has made it difficult to fully utilize such potentially important resources. Mentorship Program \u201cQ-Angel\u201d for Newly Appointed International Faculty<\/em><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n“Q-Angel” is a mentorship program proposed by SIAG in the Proposals for Internationalization (AY 2023). In this program, experienced faculty members volunteer as mentors for newly appointed international faculty at Kyushu University. The program provides personalized support for various questions and challenges that new international faculty may face, from research and educational activities to daily life in Fukuoka.
