APRU (the Association of Pacific Rim Universities)<\/em><\/h3>\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isc.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/intlweb\/cmn\/strategy\/consortium\/Logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"230\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19166\" \/><br>\r\n<br>\r\n<div class=\"wrap_txt\"><p>\r\nThe Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) is a strategic alliance of leading universities across the Pacific Rim\u2014including Asia, North America, Latin America, and Oceania. Established in 1997, APRU aims to strengthen cooperation among higher education institutions in the region. Today, it brings together approximately 60 member universities committed to academic excellence and global engagement.<br>\r\nKyushu University joined APRU in March 2021, embracing its mission to address key societal challenges through research, education, and innovation. Through a wide range of initiatives\u2014including presidential meetings, workshops, seminars, and virtual exchange programs\u2014APRU fosters meaningful collaboration and empowers universities to make a positive impact across borders.<br>\r\n<\/p><\/div>\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/apru.org\/\" class=\"btn_nomal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>APRU Website<\/em><\/a>\r\n<br><br>\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.isc.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/intlweb\/en\/strategy\/consortium\" class=\"btn_nomal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>APRU Event<\/em><\/a>\r\n\r\n<h4 class=\"sttl03\"><em>Virtual Student Exchange Program(VSE)<\/em><\/h4>\r\n<div class=\"wrap_txt\"><p>\r\nKyushu University undergraduate students can participate in VSE Program, taking up to two courses per season (some restrictions may apply). If approved by your faculty, credits earned through these courses can be transferred and counted toward your degree at Kyushu University.\r\n<br><br>\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.isc.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/intlweb\/en\/student\/online\/vseacademic\" class=\"btn_nomal\"  rel=\"noopener\"><em>APRU VSE Academic Courses<\/em><\/a>\r\n<div class=\"box_nomal\" id=\"apru_vse_course\">\r\n<em class=\"txt_bold\">Offering Courses through the VSE Program:<\/em><br \/>\r\nFaculty members at Kyushu University are welcome to contribute to the VSE Program by offering academic courses. You can newly create a course specifically for the program, or open existing courses at the university to APRU students.<br>\r\nIf you are interested in offering a course, please complete and submit the application form below. MIRAI<\/em><\/h3>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wrap_txt\"><p>\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.isc.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/intlweb\/web\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/mirai_mini.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"157\" height=\"250\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-19118\" \/>\r\n<br \/><br \/>\r\nLaunched in 2017 following the Japan\u2013Sweden University Presidents\u2019 Summit in 2015, MIRAI promotes deeper academic collaboration between the two countries, with a strong focus on nurturing early career researchers, including PhD students.<br \/><br \/>\r\nKyushu University has been an active member since the beginning, playing a key role in MIRAI\u2019s development. <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.isc.kyushu-u.ac.jp\/intlweb\/en\/strategy\/overseas\" title=Stockholm Liaison Office\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Our Stockholm Liaison Office<\/a><\/u>, established in 2020 as our European hub, serves as a local gateway to support joint activities in MIRAI.<br \/><br \/>\r\n\r\nIn November 2022, Kyushu University hosted the MIRAI 2.0 Research and Innovation Week at Ito Campus, welcoming around 300 participants. In 2023, a 22-member delegation from the university took part in the R&#038;I Week at Ume\u00e5 University as well as hosted the public symposium MIRAI Open Day in central Stockholm. The network promotes international joint research and aims to address global challenges through collaboration with government and industry.<br><br>\r\nCurrently in its third phase (2025\u20132030), RENKEI focuses on two critical themes: Climate Change and Health. Collaborative research projects are actively underway, alongside specialized programs for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to support the development of future global leaders.<br><br>\r\nKyushu University has been a core member since the beginning.
