The US is pressing Europe and Asia for increased burden sharing – geopolitics trumps geoeconomics, a new focus on defence and deterrence has become necessary. The latest world view expressed in the US National Security Strategy signals the transformation (or even end) of the transatlantic relationship, with repercussions on the transpacific theatre. The EU needs to work with partners to avoid a G2, a bifurcation of the international order in spheres of influence where might is right – the post-World War II system is contested and thereby the EU which was set up to preserve peace and not to escrow anybody.
Kyushu University EU Centre welcomes Dr. Michael Reiterer, Former EU-Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Distinguished Professor at Brussels School of Governance, as a lecturer for the Jean Monnet Seminar entitled “EU Foreign Policy in times of Contestation”. 1.　Date and Time: Thursday, 8th January 2026, 16:40–18:10 (5th period) 2.　Venue: Room A-105, East Building 1, Ito
Read More

[188,183,184,179,159
<!-- WP Super Cache is installed but broken.
