Accomplishments of CAPs

Through the Conference of Asian University Presidents, the presidents of each of the universities have developed relationships of mutual trust and contributed to the smooth implementation of individual collaborative projects and interaction amongst students. The following exchange projects are representative practices brought to realized as a result of CAPs between Kyushu University and CAPs member universities.


Branch Offices
Under the agreement of this Network Point concept, “Branch Offices” have been established as a base of activities for closer coordination in order to promote collaborative projects between researchers and facilitate activities such as information exchange, recruitment of the students, introduction of universities, etc.

ASEP
In conjunction with Network Point, a student exchange program known as the “Asian Student Exchange Program (ASEP)” has been developed. This program purposes to vitalize interactions between researchers through the development of a mutual curriculum and collaborative summer programs as well as interactions amongst students.

CAPs Young Researcher Award (YRA)
At the 6th Conference of Asian University Presidents held at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, November 25th 2006, it was agreed by participants that in order to encourage research by young scholars based in Asia a Young Researcher Award (YRA) would be established under the auspices of the Conference of Asian University Presidents (CAPs). The YRAs will be presented to young scholars in recognition of their achievement in completing research of the highest academic caliber.
