Library

Kyushu University has a total of some 4.2 million books that cover Humanities and Social and Natural Sciences.
Wireless Internet access is available in the libraries. There are also study rooms and other facilities, and domestic and international newspapers and books are available.

The following libraries are located in each district. Please check the library’s website for the opening schedule and other information.

<Guide to use>
  • Students: Degree students may freely use the library with their student ID card. Non-degree students (research students, etc.) who do not have a student IC card or magnetic card must register at the library counter in your district and receive a library card.
  • Faculty members: You can freely use the service if you have an IC staff ID card or personal card. If you do not have a card, please apply for a card at the Human Resources Section of your department.

Center for Health Service and Counseling

Counseling and Health Service Center provides supports for physical/mental health and people with disabilities. If you have any concerns about yourself, feel free to visit the center and be counseled. In addition to the main center on Ito campus, the branch centers are located on other campuses too, and services are available free of charge.

Considering COVID-19 infection situation, a web-based consultation form is also available.

<Coordination Section>

It is the first one-stop contact point for various consultations from students, faculty members and related parties (family members, etc.).

<Infirmaries>

Infirmaries provide physical and mental health counseling by doctors and nurses.

<Student counseling section>

Counselors provide psychological and academic counseling. Counseling in English and Chinese is also available.

<Support section for inclusion>

In order to enable students and faculty members with disabilities to demonstrate their individuality and abilities, we provide support (reasonable accommodation) to remove social barriers that may be to their disadvantage.

<Division of health promotion and development>

This division collects, analyzes, and disseminates health information as the basis for support activities for students, faculty members and plan and implement health education such as FD for faculty members.

Authentication Service (SSO-KID)

Kyushu University issues a university-wide ID number (SSO-KID) to each individual as an account to be used at the university.

In order to use various information systems at the university, you need your SSO-KID and password.

<How to confirm your own ID>
For Students
  • For regular students, the SSO-KID is the 10-digit number printed on the back of the IC student ID card.
  • For Non-regular students (research students and non-degree students), you should inquire at your respective student affairs sections.

  • Faculty members will receive an A5 size SSO-KID card within one week from the day after the starting date at Kyushu University.

Off-Campus Personnel
  • Non-associates who are not directly employed by Kyushu University can be issued an SSO-KID with the approval of the head of department. Please apply for issuance.

About Q-Mate

Residence Card

Q-Mate is a Student support team headed by the International Student Exchange Division.In collaboration with the university staff members, they organize events and provide support for international students living and learning at Kyushu University.

Online Consultation Desk

International students of Kyushu University living in Japan can use the "Online Consultation Desk".

You can ask questions about life in Japan to a student assistant staff member of the International Student Exchange Division.

Questions can be submitted 24 hours a day, and staff members will answer your questions between 9:30am and 15:30pm on weekdays.

Please feel free to use your smart phone, computer, or tablet to contact us. You do not need an appointment.

Medical Check-up

It is held twice a year (April / September).
Please be sure to participate as we will explain important matters for life inside and outside the university.

Issuing of certificate

Issuing the certificate may take several days.Please apply early.

It is necessary when taking lectures and exams, and when using the library.

Certificate of enrollment / transcript / graduation certificate / certificate of completion

Required for renewal of stay, application for scholarship, application for moving into public housing, etc.

Health check certificate

International students belonging to regular courses can pick up at the automatic issuing machine.Also, for non-regular courses (research students, exchange students, etc.), please apply at the Campus Life and Health Support Center on your campus. ※It can be issued free of charge.

If you do not take the regular student health checkup, you will not be able to issue a health checkup certificate.

Be sure to take a medical examination certificate as it may be required when applying for a scholarship or looking for a job.
