How to Find Housing
Necessary Procedures for Moving
When moving, you will need to complete various procedures. Please check in advance to make sure there are no omissions.
<City Ward office>
Procedures for moving out and moving in before and at your new residence. Moving-in procedures must be completed within 14 days of moving out. Also, procedures for change of address for residence card (including alien registration certificate which is regarded as residence card) and national health insurance at the city ward office of the new residence must be completed within 14 days from the date of moving out.
<Post office>
If you submit a notification of change of address at the post office, mail addresses to your previous address will be automatically forwarded to your new address. The forwarding period is one year.
<Lifeline>
Before moving out, you will need to settle your bills with your gas, water, and electricity suppliers.
You will also need to cancel your contract before moving out and sign a new contract at your new residence.

You must also notify your department of your change of address.
