Japanese Language and Culture Course(University Recommendation & Embassy Recommendation)
Japanese Language and Culture Course (University Recommendation & Embassy Recommendation)
This program is open to students who have studied Japanese language or Japanese studies (including fields related to Japanese culture) as their major for at least one year at an overseas university. Participants will undertake training primarily focused on Japanese studies and Japanese culture at the International Student Center of our university for approximately 11 months.
The objective of the program is to improve Japanese language proficiency necessary for future Japanese studies, as well as to deepen participants’ understanding of Japanese society and culture.
The study (training) period is typically from October to August.
Regarding the University Recommendation, around the end of March each year, outstanding candidates are selected from among students at partner universities who wish to enroll in this course and are recommended to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
(Students wishing to enroll at our university should submit an application for exchange study through their home university around December of the preceding year.)
MEXT is expected to make the final selection in late June, and successful candidates are normally scheduled to arrive in Japan in late September.
Regarding the Embassy Recommendation, recruitment is conducted by the Japanese Embassy or Consulate-General in the applicant’s country of nationality. Applications typically open between December and January of the year preceding the intended start of study. Please refer to the website of the Japanese Embassy or Consulate-General in your country for application guidelines and further details.
