[Call for PhD students:Deadline April 23] APRU FELLI Research‑Intensive Field Course 2026

Program Overview
Kyushu University invites PhD students to apply for the APRU FELLI Research Intensive Field Course 2026, an international, field based intensive program organized by the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU).
Set in Ecuador’s diverse forest ecosystems—including the Amazon, cloud forests, and highland páramo—this course focuses on research design for international, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research through immersive, real world field experience.

⚫Online sessions:July 20–23, 2026
⚫On site field course (Ecuador):July 25–August 16, 2026
Eligibility
⚫PhD students enrolled at Kyushu University
⚫Students from all academic disciplines are welcome
⚫Strong motivation to participate actively in English language discussions and fieldwork
⚫Due to scheduling constraints, this call is open only to applicants who do not require an entry visa to Ecuador
📌A letter of recommendation from the academic supervisor (in English) is required.
Fees & Financial Support
⚫Course fee: USD 5,000 and additional costs (read more in the call document)
⚫Full round trip airfare support (Japan–Ecuador) will be provided by Kyushu University for one outstanding applicant.
