[Due:2/20] Call for Application: APRU Undergraduate Leaders’ Program

 Address challenges in the Pacific Rim region and be a future global leader!

The APRU Undergraduate Leaders' Program (ULP) is a short-term study abroad program for undergraduate students offered by the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), an international consortium of which Kyushu University is a member. The program, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024, is conducted in collaboration with government agencies and UN agencies. This year, under the theme “Future Global Citizenship Leaders: Addressing Pacific Rim Challenges,” the program will address challenges in the Pacific Rim area from a Latin American perspective. Through lectures, workshops, and presentations, participants will deepen their understanding of cultural diversity and inclusiveness and develop the qualities of global mindset. Application Eligibility
To apply, you must:
(1) Be enrolled at Kyushu University during the program period, and an undergraduate student who has completed at least one year of study.
  *Any faculty/graduate school or discipline are welcome.
(2) Demonstrate a good command of English.
  *The program will be conducted in English.
(3) Obtain approval to participate in this program from your academic supervisor.
(4) Commit to participating in the full program and secure funding for participation.
(5) Ensure participation does not interfere with your academic responsibilities (e.g. classes or exams).

Costs: Estimated 650,000 – 750,000 JPY
・Program Fee: USD 600 (includes meals and accommodation)
・Round-trip airfare to Santiago (Chile)
・Overseas travel insurance and risk management service fees

Application & Selection Process
The selection process for participation in this program consists of the following two steps:
1. Internal Selection Process at Kyushu University

Documents to be submitted:
Upon filling out the form, you are required to submit the following documents. Please prepare them in advance:
(1) Academic transcript (English version)
(2) Proof of English proficiency (preferably TOEFL or IELTS scores)
(3) A letter of recommendation from your supervisor (any format, in English)

Application Deadline: February 20 (Thu)

2. Selection Process by the Hosting University
After receiving notification of the internal selections results, those who pass the internal selection process will be required to submit a final application through a designated form. The hosting university will conduct a final review to determine whether you are approved to participate in the program.
