This year’s lecture will explore the interdisciplinary nature of global collaboration and showcase impactful work supported by RENKEI – a partnership between leading research-intensive universities in Japan and the UK, promoting knowledge exchange and collaborative research.
This prestigious event is co-hosted by the University of Leeds and the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), in partnership with RENKEI.

🏛 About the Edward Boyle Memorial Lecture
The Edward Boyle Memorial Lecture commemorates Sir Edward Boyle (Baron Boyle of Handsworth), a distinguished British politician who served in various roles including Minister of Education and Minister of State for Education and Science. He later became Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds, serving for over a decade.
The Edward Boyle Memorial Trust supports the advancement of education, learning, and music. The 2025 lecture will focus on the importance of global partnerships in higher education.
This lecture is part of a broader programme developed by the RSA and its partners to support global partnerships for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
