APRU Virtual Student Exchange Program Academic Courses

The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU), of which Kyushu University is a member, runs an online exchange program called “Virtual Student Exchange Program (VSE)”. This program allows students to take international courses without having to travel. VSE academic courses in a range of disciplines offered by APRU member universities (as course offering universities) are free of charge to all APRU member university students, including Kyushu University.
Undergraduate students at Kyushu University can take one (or two) academic courses during each season. After successfully completing a course, students may able to earn credits from the course offering university (some exceptions may apply). Please note that the transferability of VSE academic course credits is subjects to the approval of each school from Kyushu University. *Before applying, please read the application guidelines carefully. You must complete to submit the applications both to APRU and to Kyushu University. If you have submitted only one of the two applications, your application will not be accepted.
*Please note that before applying for a VSE academic course, students must first obtain approval from their supervisor and notify their school.

About APRU VSE Academic Courses

  • Eligibility Requirements
    1. Undergraduate students enrolled full-time at Kyushu University.
    2. Applicants must meet all academic requirements set by each course offering university.
    *Please note that some course offering universities and courses may have additional academic and language proficiency requirements. Before applying, please check the requirements on the APRU VSE website.
  • Course offering universities
    For more information on academic courses and the course offering universities, please visit the APRU VSE website above. The list of course offering universities is subject to change.
  • Course duration
    Course duration may vary depending on the course offering universities and their courses.
  • VSE Seasons
    The VSE is offered in three Seasons each year with courses organized according to their start dates.
    Season 1 : for regular-term courses with starting dates from July to December
    Season 2 : for regular-term courses with starting dates from January to June
    Season 3 : for intensive, short-term courses offered between May and August
  • Credits
    Most academic courses offered through VSE are credit bearing (some exceptions apply).
    *The accreditation of acquired credits (credit transfer) will be decided by your school. Please consult with your supervisor and your school before applying for a VSE academic course.
  • Cost
    Free of Charge. However, a material fee or other related costs may apply depending on the course or course offering university.
