[Deadline: April 30] UCAS-ANSO-APRU International Summer School 2025

The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) is hosting the International Summer School 2025 with the theme "Earth Science for a Shared Future." This program aims to provide young talents interested in Earth sciences with a rich and rewarding experience.
Here, you will embark on a journey to explore cutting-edge research in Earth Science at UCAS colleges and the institutes of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), you will join a community of young talents converging to tackle global challenges, supported by
world-leading laboratories, state-of-the-art research facilities, and top-tier research teams, including post-docs from around the world.
Should you be interested in participating, please carefully review the requirements on the ウェブサイト and apply directly through the application system. Additionally, please inform the International Affairs Division via email once you have applied.
This program is co-hosted by the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU). As our university is a member of APRU, our students will be given priority during the selection process. Additionally, outstanding students may receive travel subsidies and scholarships based on the review results. We encourage you to apply!

1.Online coursework (Zoom): June 25th (Wednesday) - July 1st (Tuesday)
The schedule for online coursework will be emailed to all applicants by mid-May 2025. We warmly welcome anyone interested in our topics to join our online courses. Please note that attendance is limited and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
2.Onsite Research Project: July 5th (Sunday) - 11th (Saturday)
Onsite research projects will be conducted at the following host institutions. Applicants must choose one institution when submitting their application. The detailed agenda for the onsite research project will be emailed to selected participants by their host institutes before May 31st, 2025. Participants are advised to take a direct flight to the cities where
their host institutions are located.

What is APRU?
APRU (Association of Pacific Rim Universities) is an international consortium established in 1997 to strengthen the mutual cooperation among higher education institutions located in the Pacific Rim region (Asia, North America, Central and South America, Oceania). It aims to address important issues for the Pacific Rim community, such as economic development, urbanization, technology transfer, air pollution, and resource depletion, by promoting education and research through thematic events and various educational programs.
As of January 2025, 61 higher education institutions from 18 countries and regions are members of APRU. Kyushu University joined in March 2021.
