The Study Abroad Section of Kyushu University held a study abroad event for students interested in studying abroad on the evening of Monday, June 13, 2022, at Oumei Tenku Hiroba (Q-Commons) to provide basic knowledge about studying abroad and its appeal, planned by student abroad peer advisors.

The first part of the event consisted of presentations on study abroad by students who have studied abroad, and the second part consisted of a round-table discussion to allow the presenters and event participants to interact with each other.

The first part of the event featured presentations by seven students and alumni who have studied abroad online, short-term, and long-term. The presentations, which included colorful photos of their study abroad experiences, were very enjoyable. It was made even more fulfilling by having a person who is currently studying abroad in London and a Kyushu University OG speak via an online webcast.

The second part, a roundtable discussion, was an exchange meeting among students who have already decided to study abroad or are considering studying abroad. Questions about studying abroad were actively exchanged, and the advice and chats with students who had experience in the first part of the event, as well as the advice of students who presented in the first part, made this a very good networking opportunity.

In a survey conducted after the event, about 80% of the participants rated the event as "very good. Some respondents commented that they were able to hear from people who had studied abroad in various countries, which helped them visualize what it would be like to study abroad, and that the event increased their motivation to study abroad.

Due to the COVID-19, it is still more difficult to study abroad than before, but travel restrictions are gradually being eased. We plan to continue to actively promote the appeal of studying abroad.
