Sweden-Japan Workshop on Ageing in Tokyo: Applications due on April 5th

Hosted by Waseda University, MIRAI Ageing Workshop will take place in Tokyo on 3-4 June, 2019.

The MIRAI project (2016-2019) aims to contribute to long-term collaborations and research excellence between Sweden and Japan through activities in research, education and innovation within Ageing, Materials Science and Sustainability. Kyushu University is one of MIRAI member universities.

~~~ MIRAI Ageing Workshop ~~~
■ Eligibility
Early career researchers who hold preferably an assistant/associated professor position, or a postdoctoral in the beginning of an academic career.

■ Theme
“Furthering International Joint Research Promotion in the Field of Ageing: Accelerating Implementation of Research into Practice”

The main vision for this workshop is using business models created by entrepreneurs to find solutions for problems facing super-ageing societies.

Sub-topics:
A) Demography and Determinants of Health
B) New Technologies for the Ageing Society
C) Health Promotion for the Ageing Society

In the workshop, there are two types of presentation style; “Oral presentation” and “poster session”. Due to the limited number of time slots available for oral presentations, not all the participants may have the opportunity to give oral presentations. Participants will be required to give presentations in the poster session. The workshop organizing members will offer presentation slots, based on the information on the registration form.

■ Travel grant
A round trip air fare (Fukuoka-Haneda Tokyo), 2 night accommodation, and daily allowance to be paid according to Kyushu University Travel Expense Regulations. Kyushu University’s International Office will book air tickets.

■ Screening by the home university
Please submit your application documents (in either Japanese or English) by Friday, 5th April, 2019, to Kyushu University’s International Office by email (intlsts@jimu.kyushu-u.ac.jp)

-As the program will be conducted in English, applicants must be able to communicate in English.

The successful applicant will be notified from International Office by April 10th.
