Global Gateways【実施報告】12/17（水）開催イベント「留学へ行かnight～奨学金編～」
2025年12月17日(水)の5限に、センター2号館嚶鳴天空広場(Q-commons)にて、留学課Q-MATE企画によるイベントを開催しました。本イベントは、大学間交換留学2026年度派遣第1回学内募集への申請締め切り後において、留学の奨学金に関する不安や疑問を解消することを目的として開催されました。学内申請を終え奨学金申請の締め切りが近づいていることもあり、イベントには67名もの学生が参加してくださり、大変高い関心が寄せられました。
イベント前半では、留学経験者であるQ-MATE 2名と司会1名の進行のもと、奨学金2種類の概要や申請方法についての説明を行いました。受給できる金額や求められる学生像、併願や併給が可能かどうか、申請書の書き方のコツなどQ-MATE の具体的な経験も交えながら説明しました。参加者からは、「奨学金について無知だったので基礎から教えてもらえて助かりました。」「申請書の書き方など、形式以上のことが学べたのが良かったです。」と好評な反応がみられました。イベント後半では、イベント前半で説明があった２種類の奨学金を含めた全１０種類の奨学金の説明とそれぞれの奨学金についての質問会を行うため、Q-MATE 9名・留学経験者であるボランティア3名・留学課職員らが各テーブルに分かれ座談会を実施しました。各奨学金の内容や具体的な申請までの説明、募集要項だけでは得られない情報、留学経験者の体験談を聞いて、参加者が積極的に質問し活発な意見交換がみられました。
イベント実施後のアンケートでは、全参加者が「満足した」以上を選んで回答し、「それぞれの奨学金について今までよりも詳しく知ることができた。」「ここでしか知れないことを知ることができた。」「奨学金について曖昧なところが多かったが丁寧な説明で次に自分が何をすれば良いか分かった。」「聞きたい奨学金について選べるのが良かった」「数人単位で話を聞くことができ、質問しやすい環境なのが良かったです。」など肯定的な意見を多数いただきました。一方で、「もう少し時間が欲しかった。」「大きな机で1人の先輩が話してくださっているときに、聞き取りにくい時が多々あった。」との意見もあり、今後の改善点として参考になりました。
今回のイベントは、大学間交換留学第1回学内募集申請締め切り後の時期に、奨学金に関する学生の不安や疑問を解消する有意義な機会となりました。今年度の留学課Q-MATE企画のイベントは今回をもって終了となりますが、引き続き留学を目指す学生を後押しできるよう尽力したいと思います。
[Event Report] Event held on Wednesday, December 17th
“Ryugakuni Ika-Night ~Scholarship~”
On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, during Period 5, an event organized by the Study Abroad Section's Q-MATE was held at the Ohmei Sky Plaza in Center Zone 2 (Q-commons). This Event was held to address students’ concerns and questions regarding study abroad scholarships after the deadline for the first round of the internal application for the 2026 University Exchange Program had passed. As many students had already completed their internal applications and the scholarship application deadline was approaching, 67 students joined this event.
In the first half of the event, two Q-MATE members who had studied abroad, and one moderator, provided an overview of two types of scholarships and explained the application process. They explained topics such as the amount of financial support available, the types of students sought by each scholarship, whether concurrent applications or multiple scholarships are possible, and tips for writing the application form, sharing their own experiences. Participants responded positively, with comments such as, “I knew very little about scholarships, so it was helpful to learn the basics,” and “It was great to learn more than just the formal requirements, such as how to write the application.” In the second half of the events, Nine Q-MATE members, three volunteer students with study abroad experience, and staff from the Study Abroad Section divided into roundtable discussions at separate tables to explain and answer students’ questions about a total of ten scholarships, including the two introduced earlier. Participants actively asked questions and engaged in discussions as they learned about the details of each scholarship, the application process, and information not available in the official guidelines, as well as personal experiences shared by Q-MATE members and volunteers.
According to the post-event survey, all participants rated their satisfaction as “satisfied” or higher. Many positive comments were received, such as: “I learned much more about each scholarship than before,” “I gained information that I could learn only here,” “Many aspects of scholarships were unclear to me before, but the detailed explanations helped me understand what I should do next,” “It was good that I could choose the scholarships I wanted to ask,” “The small- group format made it easy to ask questions.” On the other hand, some participants commented that “I would like to have more time to ask,” “It was sometimes difficult to listen when one senior student was speaking at a large table,” which provided useful feedback for next improvement.
Overall, this event was a valuable opportunity to address students’ concerns and questions regarding scholarships following the first internal application deadline for the University Exchange Program. While this event marked the conclusion of this year’s Q-MATE events, we will actively continue to support and encourage students who wish to study abroad.
